Rooms Hotel Khazbegi
Khazbegi, Georgia 2012
Nestled in the magical Caucasian mountains, the Rooms hotel reimagines the Soviet-era Sport’s tourist center it once was, melding the raw physicality of the Kazbegi mountains with a considered architectural vocabulary. The roofline echoes the jagged peaks in silhouette, while the wood-and-metal façade asserts a geometric rhythm that feels both modern and deeply attuned to its surroundings.
Inside, the mood of the interior walks a line between rusticity and ease, channeling the essence of a mountain lodge without veering into cliché. Natural materials anchor the space, their textures grounding the interior in its environment. The lobby unfolds as a series of moments, with bookshelves that partition the space with quiet ingenuity, conjuring the privacy of a living room.
